Sugar and Spice and everything nice…

Spreading Christmas Cheer Here at One September Day

You might want to try your hand at these… and let your children join along….

Popcorn Ornaments

You will find a smile and smirk of surprise from your friends and family when you show them this finished ornament..

Here is what you will need…

Empty Glass Ornament Bulbs

Paper Bag

Embellishments ( optional)

Measure One teaspoon into Glass Bulb

( keep ornament topper off for this part)

Place bulb into paper bag

Fold top of bag

Place and microwave for 1-2 minutes.

Listen to the popcorn pop and stop microwave when you hear the “popping” stop.

(You don’t want to to burn your popcorn.)

And … THIS … will be a Trick you can Share with your Tree.. and your Family!

(They will ask you.. “How DID you get that popcorn into that ornament?”)

Embellish as you wish…

I chose Simple.. because.. that’s the way I am.

Here is a GIFT IDEA and A Tasty One to try at Home:

You will need the following:

Package of Chocolate Stacked Cookies

( We found Peppermint layered Chocolate Cookies for this!)

White Chocolate or Almond Bark

A Few drops of Peppermint Flavoring into your melted Chocolate is yummy and Optional

Sprinkles or Crushed Peppermint

Begin by Covering your Cookie with the Melted Almond/White Chocolate

( Slowly melt this in microwave for 1- 3 minutes to start)

Slowly use a fork to pick cookie up and let excess chocolate drip through the Tines of the Fork

Let Dry slowly on wax or Parchment Paper

Sprinkle your Red Sprinkles or Crushed Peppermint onto Cookie before it is completely dry.

I cooled/dried mine in the Refrigerator to help speed up the process.

We made these… and then… they were gone.  In our bellies.. not as gifts.

Will have to re-do again, I guess.

Will you share your favorite Christmas Ideas here?

Enjoy my friends!

I love the popcorn ornament idea and am planning to do it with the kids this year.  We tried it last year and discovered that plastic ornaments do not work for this!!! 🙂  Oh, my word- I felt so silly.  So, I found glass ornaments at a yard sale this summer and can’t wait to do it.
We love Christmas- our favorite tradition is making buttermilk cookies!
