Oh, how my “moods” change like a flash of lightning! On the inside. I will do my best to keep the outward display of frustration or discouragement inside, and sometimes it is like a slow simmer.
But, you know THOSE people, or THOSE things that can bring out the worst in you?
This is where I halt, step back a few paces and say….This is Good.
Don’t blame the source. Don’t beat yourself up over the bad that you see come out of your own heart, actions, and thoughts.
It is good to see where we need to be pruned. It is painful. It is necessary.
Our worst is where God does the scraping, the clearing, the washing, and His amazing work of redemption in our messy lives.
There are people that annoy you? People that you say, “push your buttons?”
Perhaps the daily tasks of motherhood will sometimes push the ugly out of you. The short answers, or the resentment for time alone.
Whatever the circumstances are that “bring out the worst in us.” Let them. See the ugly. Let the Savior peel the layers back, and make you new, whole, and beautiful.
The worst becomes His best work. If we let Him.
I am in this place today. In my motherhood. It is good, hard, and will someday be beautiful. I have a Redeemer.
You? Where does your ugly fit in? You can be real here. Do you see your worst as His workbench?
